Luxembourg February 2019: Mercedes overtakes BMW to #2 in market up 10.4%
Mercedes holds 9.1% of the Luxembourg market in February.

From this month we will publish brands data for Luxembourg in sync with the rest of Europe, with the Top 10 models added when available at the start of month+2. New car sales in the country shoot up 10.4% year-on-year in February to 5.041 units, tilting the year-to-date volume into positive at +3.7% to 9.246. Volkswagen remains dominant at 13.3% share, while Mercedes overtakes BMW for 2nd place overall with Peugeot and Skoda rounding up the Top 5. Citroen is up 4 spots on January to #8, Hyundai up 3 to #10 but Audi down 4 to #9. Further down, notice also Nissan (+6), Seat (+8), Jaguar (+6), Jeep (+4), Mazda (+4) and Tesla (+12) while Borgward steps up to #35 with 8 sales and Alpine is up 9 ranks on last month to #36.
Model-wise, the VW Golf (+45.1%) remains on top with a strong 4.7% share ahead of the Mercedes A-Class (+180%) once again extremely dynamic. Below the Skoda Octavia (+37.7%), the VW Polo (-13.5%) returns to the Top 10 while the VW T-Roc breaks into the Luxembourg Top 10 and Top 5 for the first time, with the BMW X5 (+194.1%), Renault Megane (+96.3%), BMW X3 (+66%) and Mercedes GLC (+57.4%) the other great performers in the top 10.
