After 3 consecutive years of freefall, the Solomon new car market rallies back up 19.5% year-on-year in 2018 to 270 sales. Toyota (+11%) remains ultra-dominant but sees its share thaw from 48.2% to 44.8% whereas Isuzu (+21.3%) outpaces the market to hit 33.7% and Hyundai (+43.8%) does so even more spectacularly to reach 8.5%, overtaking Nissan (-5.3%) with Kia (+142.9%) in tow. Model-wise, given the score of Isuzu it is reasonable to estimate that the D-Max pickup is the best-selling vehicle in the country, while the Toyota Hilux (-8.1%) and Land Cruiser 70 (+3%) now sell exactly the same amount and the Prado (+14.3%) shines.
