Pakistan February 2019: Toyota (+8.2%) stays afloat in market down 13%
Strong sales of the Corolla (+22.6%) help Toyota up 8.2% in Pakistan in February.
According to PAMA data, sales of locally-made light vehicles in Pakistan are down 13% year-on-year to 19.712 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down 8.6% to 42.250. Suzuki (-16.8%) remains comfortably atop the brands ranking with a suffocating 55% share, distancing Toyota (+8.2%) strong at 28% share while Honda (-27.1%) skids down to 16.6% share. Model-wise, the Toyota Corolla (+22.6%) is the best-selling vehicle in Pakistan ahead of the Suzuki Mehran (-32.9%) and WagonR (+15.6%). Only the Toyota Fortuner (+80.4%) manages a year-on-year gain among the rest of locally-produced nameplates, with the Suzuki Ravi (-14.2%), Cultus (-14.3%) and Bolan (-18.2%) posting the slimmest drops.
