Latvia January 2019: VW Tiguan topples Golf for #1

The VW Tiguan is the most popular nameplate in Latvia in January.

According to our partner JATO Dynamics, new car sales in Latvia edge up 0.7% year-on-year in January to 1.540. This month the VW Tiguan (+256.7%) topples 2018’s winner the VW Golf (-22.7%) to score a #1 finish for the 2nd time in the past 4 months. The Peugeot 308 (+10.5%) rallies back up to #3, distancing the Kia Cee’d (+80%) and Skoda Octavia (+29.6%). The Toyota Auris (+33.3%), Skoda Kodiaq (+20.8%), Toyota Corolla (+17.9%) and C-HR (+10.7%) also post brilliant double-digit gains whereas the VW Passat (-42%) crumbles.
