Luxembourg November 2018: Mercedes A-Class repeats at #1 in market down 19.6%

The Mercedes A-Class is the best-selling vehicle in Luxembourg for the 2nd month running.

Based on data share by our partner JATO Dynamics, the Luxembourg new car market freefalls 19.6% year-on-year in November to 3.529 registrations, leading to a year-to-date volume now edging up just 0.5% to 50.196 units. Volkswagen reclaims the brands position it holds YTD off Mercedes, but for only 14 units at 11.7% vs. 11.3% share. BMW (9.4%) is down one spot to #3 ahead of Ford (6.9%) and Peugeot (6.1%). Volvo (5.8%) remains at a very strong 6th place vs. #10 YTD, more than two percentage points of share above its YTD level. Fiat (#11), Mini (#14), Jeep (#18) and Suzuki (#19) also over-perform. Model-wise, the Mercedes A-Class (+135%) repeats at #1 thanks to the new generation, while the VW Golf (-47%) rallies back up 5 spots on October to #2 despite losing almost half its November 2017 volume.  The BMW X3 (+50%) and VW Polo (+57%) are the only other Top 10 models posting significant gains.
