Hungary November 2018: Suzuki Vitara (+26%), SX4 S-Cross (+22%) defy market down 8%
Suzuki Vitara sales are up 26% in November.
New car sales in Hungary are stuck in negative for the third straight month at -8% in November to 11.373 registrations, but the year-to-date volume remains comfortably in positive at an impressive +20.4% and 126.919 units. Suzuki (+18%) swims upstreams and braves the negative conditions with a hefty uptick, the largest gain in the Top 10. Ford (-10%) and Opel (-5%) both retract in the remainder of the podium, but Dacia (+14%) improves to #4 overall vs. #7 so far this year. Toyota (+14%), Kia (+9%) and Volkswagen (+4%) are the other Top 10 manufacturers to manage a gain this month, whereas Skoda (-57%) and Renault (-26%) implode and Nissan (-1%) edges down. Model-wise, the Suzuki Vitara (+26%) is bolstered by its facelift while the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross (+22%) climbs back up to #2 ahead of the Dacia Duster (+0.2%) whereas the Skoda Octavia (-73%) implodes to #4, distancing the Renault Clio (+13%) and Opel Corsa (+36%). The Fiat 500 (+83%), VW Golf (+30%) and Opel Astra (+23%) also shine in the remainder of the Top 10.
