Luxembourg August 2018: Mercedes GLC #1 in market up 22.1%

The Mercedes GLC is the best-selling vehicle in Luxembourg in August.

New car sales in Luxembourg gain 22.1% year-on-year in August to 4.187 units, leading to a year-to-date volume up 7.8% to 39.773. The models ranking is completely reshuffled this month as pre-WLTP stock shifting mixes in with a very fragmented market. The Mercedes GLC (-6%) brilliantly takes the lead at 2.3% share despite showing a YoY decline, and is followed this month by the VW Tiguan (+2%), Audi A3 (+45%) and Renault Scenic leaping from outside the July Top 10 directly to #4 and earning a Top 10 YTD spot in the process at #9. The VW Golf (-1%) is down to #5 for the month but remains frankly in the YTD lead at 4% share vs. 2.3% for the #2, the VW Tiguan. Notice also the BMW X3 up to #7 and up 386% so far in 2018 thanks to a new generation.
