Latvia August 2018: VW Golf (+322%) and Tiguan (+274%) artificially up

The Latvian new car market edges up 9.8% year-on-year in August to 1.613 deliveries, lifting the year-to-date volume up 5.1% to 12.080 units. The VW Golf (+322%) gets an artificial pre-WLTP stock-clearing boost to 7.1% share, cementing its YTD domination at 5.3% (+60%). The Nissan Qashqai (+52%) and VW Tiguan (+274%) also post solid albeit artificial results in the remainder of the podium, with the Toyota RAV4 (+20%) the only other Top 10 nameplate in frank positive territory just as the Kia Sportage (-47%) and Skoda Octavia (-37%) get paradoxically penalised by a lack of non WLTP-compliant stock to clear.
