As per the rest of the European Union, Denmark feels the post-WLTP rush hangover in September at -16% to 12.067 registrations, yet the year-to-date tally manages to remain in record territory at 170.010 units, up 0.8% on the same period in 2017. Contrary to its ghastly situation across the rest of the continent, Volkswagen manages to contain its fall to -8% in Denmark, this holding onto the top spot at 14.3% share above Toyota (-23%) and Peugeot (-31%). Volvo (+650%), BMW (+423%), Mazda (+156%), Mercedes (+101%), Ford (+35%) and Skoda (+9%) even manage pretty spectacular gains in the Top 12. The VW Up! (-54%) leaps to #1 for the first time since a year ago (September 2017) and this despite losing more than half its sales year-on-year. It distances the Toyota Aygo (-45%), VW Golf (-11%) and YTD leader the Peugeot 208 (-27%) with the Citroen C3 (+44%) posting the only gain in the Top 5. The VW Polo (+767%), Skoda Octavia (+232%) and VW Touran (+44%) are also in positive in the Top 10. Leader in August, the Nissan Qashqai falls to #18 this month, while the Hyundai Kona is back up to #28 to lead recent launches (<12 months) above the VW T-Roc (#42) and Skoda Karoq (#43).
