Singapore August 2018: Hyundai soars 137% in market down 23.1%
Hyundai is in great shape in a depleted Singaporean market.

It’s a 6th month of decline in 2018 for Singaporean new car sales in August at -23.1% to 5.941 registrations, pulling the year-to-date tally down 10.6% to 54.592. Honda (-24%) matches the market and remains in the brands lead with a dominant 18.2% share vs. just 12.6% for Toyota imploding down 58% this month. Hyundai (+137%) ignores the surrounding gloom, more than doubling its sales to leap to third place overall. Subaru (+40%), Nissan (+35%), Audi (+19%) and Mitsubishi (+14%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10 whereas Mazda (-62%) freefalls and Mercedes (-1%) and BMW (-18%) manage to fall slower than the market.
