The Polish new light vehicle market gallops ahead in July at +24.8% to 51.936 registrations, the largest year-on-year gain in over two years, since the +28% of June 2016. The year-to-date volume is now up 12.3% to a new record 357.468 units including light commercial vehicles. As it has been the case in almost every single European market so far in July, Volkswagen is particularly strong at +58% and 11.6% share, helped by forwarded sales in the lead-up to the new WLTP emissions standards that will come into effect on September 1. Skoda (+17%) is knocked down to 2nd place at 10.6% but remains comfortably in the YTD lead. Nissan (+53%), Renault (+47%), Fiat (+36%), Opel (+31%) and Peugeot (+29%) also impress. Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia (+34%) remains on top, the Opel Astra (+60%) is up to #2 for the first time since May 2017 and the Fiat Tipo (+70%) is up a smashing 17 spots on June to #4, a new ranking record for the nameplate eclipsing the #6 hit in May 2017. The Ford Fiesta (+141%), Renault Megane (+106%), VW Polo (+90%), VW Passat (+85%), Seat Leon (+84%), Nissan Qashqai (+66%) and Jeep Renegade (#50) also make themselves noticed.
