New car sales in Slovenia dip down 2.3% year-on-year in June to 7.378 registrations, however the year-to-date tally remains in positive at +6.8% to 41.677 units. Volkswagen (+18%) and Renault (+13%) post robust gains to more than ever dominate the Slovenian sales charts, adding up to 34.1% share vs. 31% YTD. Below Skoda (-7%) in difficulty, Fiat (+99%) continues to surge ahead and posts by far the largest year-on-year gain in the Top 15. Dacia (-53%) and Opel (-28%) are not so lucky. Below, Abarth (+600%), Lexus (+250%), Mitsubishi (+190%), Jaguar (+143%) and Alfa Romeo (+136%) shine. Model-wise, the Renault Clio (+6%) reclaims the throne it sits on YTD, dislodging the VW Polo (+87%) while the VW Golf (-20%) rounds up the podium. The Fiat 500 is up 20-fold (!) on June 2017 to #4 vs. #7 YTD and #70 in FY2017: we suspect this sudden surge has a lot to do with rental sales. The Nissan Qashqai (+176%), Renault Captur (+148%) and VW Tiguan (+96%) also impress in the Top 10 and the VW T-Roc (#11) tops recent launches well ahead of the Hyundai Kona (#41) and Kia Stonic (#43).
