Latvia May 2018: VW Golf leads, Toyota Auris up 158% to #2

The Toyota Auris is up 158% to #2 in Latvia this month.

According to data released by our partner JATO Dynamics, the Latvian new car market soars 9.7% year-on-year in May to 1.692 units, lifting the year-to-date tally up 4.5% to 7.342. Leader year-to-date, the VW Golf (-4%) is back to the monthly top spot despite a year-on-year decline. Potentially helped by rebates on the outgoing generation, the Toyota Auris more than doubles its deliveries year-on-year (+158%) to climb up to 2nd position for the month, distancing the VW Passat (-20%), VW Tiguan (-2%) and Nissan Qashqai (-57%) all in difficulty. The Peugeot 308 is back inside the YTD Top 10 despite a steep 70% drop on May 2017.
