Bulgaria June 2018: Renault up 23% to 13.5% share, market up 9.3%

Renault cements its newfound status as most popular carmaker in Bulgaria in 2018.

New car sales in Bulgaria continue to gallop ahead this year with June volumes up 9.3% to 4.062 units, lifting the year-to-date tally up 16.7% to 21.171. Renault confirms (+23%) it is the new favourite brand in the country, vastly outpacing the market to hit 13.5% share vs. 12.2% so far in 2018, distancing sister brand and ex-leader Dacia (-31%) while Toyota (+25%) overtakes Skoda (+17%) to climb on the podium. Nissan surges 94% to 5th place ahead of Volkswagen (+38%) with Mercedes (+184%) and Peugeot (+49%) also very impressive in the Top 10. In contrast, Ford (-28%) and Kia (-16%) are hit hard. Further down, Jeep (+260%), Alfa Romeo (+220%), Lexus (+109%), Mitsubishi (+63%), BMW (+55%) and Porsche (+38%) shine whereas Land Rover (-48%), Suzuki (-38%), Hyundai (-28%), Volvo (-25%) and Mazda (-22%) suffer.
