Denmark May 2018: Nissan Qashqai (+72%) rallies back up to #2

Nissan Qashqai sales are up 72% year-on-year in May.

New car sales in Denmark edge up 1.2% year-on-year in May to 22.560 units, meaning the year-to-date volume is now down 1.6% to 98.235 registrations. Volkswagen (+5%) easily remains the most popular carmaker in the country at 14.1% share above Peugeot (+2%) at 9.5%. In fact the Top 6 best-sellers all beat the market, with Renault (+12%), Toyota (+3%), Ford (+3%) and Citroen (+10%) in tow. Nissan (+50%) posts the largest gain in the Top 10, while further down Land Rover (+650%), Tesla (+500%), Subaru (+220%), BMW (+81%), Jeep (+67%), Fiat (+33%), Jaguar (+19%), Volvo (+13%) and Mercedes (+10%) impress. The Peugeot 208 (+5%) is the best-selling vehicle in Denmark for the 5th time in the past 6 months, followed by the Nissan Qashqai soars 72% year-on-year and 5 spots on April to return to the 2nd place it holds YTD with the VW Golf (+7%) rounding up the podium like YTD. The Skoda Fabia (+57%) and Renault Clio (+20%) also shine in the Top 10 while the VW Up (-29%), Polo (-21%) and Skoda Octavia (-20%) struggle. The VW T-Roc (#26) leads recent launches ahead of the Citroen C3 Aircross (#35) and Volvo XC40 (#52).
