New light vehicle sales in New Caledonia, a French Overseas archipelago located north-east of Australia, are up 1.4% year-on-year in April to 595 registrations, leading the YTD volume to reduce its fall to 10.4% to 2.546 units. Citroen (+74%) snaps the brands pole position off Peugeot (+76%) for just one unit as both manufacturers take advantage of a weak month by Dacia (#6) to step up one spot each in the YTD order to #2 and #1 respectively. Toyota is up 20% in third place but Ford freefalls 40% to #4 just as Hyundai soars 83% to #5. Other great performers include Chevrolet (+143%), Land Rover (+75%), Audi (+25%) and Mercedes (+25%). Model-wise, the Ford Ranger (-5%) reclaims the top spot it holds YTD despite a year-on-year drop and with a two percentage point-gap on the #2, the Citroen C3 (+100%) followed by the Citroen Berlingo (+214%). The Toyota Hilux (-14%) and Dacia Sandero (+67%) round up the Top 5 with the Suzuki Swift (+171%), Peugeot 3008 (+325%) and Hyundai i10 (+1600%) also impressive in the Top 10. The Hyundai Kona (#22) leads all recent launches above the Citroen C3 Aircross (#28).
