Serbia January 2018: Skoda Octavia posts 4th consecutive win

The Skoda Octavia may be able to threaten the Fiat 500L supremacy in Serbia in 2018.

According to our Central European data partner CE Auto, 1.698 new light vehicles found a buyer in Serbia in January. Local media outlet vrelegume.rs has this figure at 1.665, up 16% year-on-year. Skoda surges 61% to hit a stunning 18.3% share vs. just 12.3% over the FY2017, well ahead of Fiat at 13.2% (+28%). Volkswagen disappoints at -14% but climbs back up 3 spots on last mont to #3, while Renault (+32%) and Dacia (+30%) both beat the market to round up the Top 5. Notice also Porsche (+1200%), Mitsubishi (+125%), Volvo (+78%), Nissan (+50%), Citroen (+45%), Toyota (+40%) and Kia (+29%) all posting spectacular gains. Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia tops the Serbian charts for the 4th consecutive month with a strong 6.8% share vs. 4.1% over the Full Year 2017, alluding to a possible annual win in 2018. The Fiat 500L is relegated to #2 with 4.5% of the market (5.8% in FY17), with the Skoda Superb up 5 spots on December to round up the podium. The Ford Kuga makes its first Top 10 appearance at #6.
