Serbia February 2018: Skoda leads, places 4 nameplates in YTD Top 5

According to our Central European data partner CE Auto, 2.145 new light vehicles were sold in Serbia in February, lifting the year-to-date total to 3.842. Local media outlet vrelegume.rs has these figures at 1.766, up 5.7% year-on-year, and 3.431, up 10.5% on the same period in 2017. Thanks to deliveries up 21%, Skoda remains the most popular carmaker in the country, outselling Fiat (+10%) and cementing its YTD lead at 16.6% vs. 13.8% for Fiat which was #1 over the Full Year 2018. Volkswagen (-10%), Renault (+5%) and Opel (+11%) follow, with Citroen (+106%), Mini (+100%), Subaru (+100%), BMW (+55%), Ford (+42%) and Mazda (+32%) posting some of the largest year-on-year gains in the remainder of the ranking. Model-wise, Skoda manages to place three nameplates in the Top 4: the Rapid at #1, the Octavia at #2 and the Fabia at #4. The Fiat 500L, #1 last year, is relegated to #3 both this month and YTD. Skoda does even better YTD with the Octavia at #1, the Rapid at #2, the Superb at #4 and the Fabia at #5.
