Armenia Full Year 2017: Mercedes, Opel and Nissan popular

Mercedes has attracted the highest number of car loans in 2017 in Armenia.

According to OICA, new vehicle sales in Armenia are up 10.3% in 2017 to 2.977 units, a far cry from the high of 12.450 in 2006. Among these, 2.750 are passenger cars (+10%) compared to 12.000 in 2006. Although no official sales data is published for Armenia, last January local financial media outlet 168.am published a list of the car brands attracting the highest number of loans based on data by government bodies MoH and MOGO. The same website estimates that the ranking should be quite close to a ranking of the best-selling marques in the country as almost every new car purchase is made through a loan. According to these figures, Mercedes comes up first with 24.8% of car loans ahead of Opel at 15.8% and Nissan at 12%, the only brands above 10% share. BMW, Volkswagen, Lada, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Honda and Kia complete the Top 10 with Lexus, Infiniti and Audi outside.
