Slovenia January 2018: Renault Clio back on top, Fiat up 4-fold
The Panda (+381%) helps Fiat up 286% in Slovenia in January.

New car sales in Slovenia are up 5.8% year-on-year in January to 6.472 registrations and Volkswagen remains the favourite brand in the country at 14.6% share, trailing the market slightly at +4%. The podium is unchanged on FY2017 with Renault (-10%) and Skoda (+2%) in tow. Peugeot leaps 14% to #4, Fiat is up 4-fold to #6, Toyota up 28% to #10 and Kia (+60%), Suzuki (+24%), Audi (+23%), Seat (+23%), BMW (+20%) and Citroen (+17%) also impressive in the Top 20. Mini (+320%) and Mitsubishi (+108%) also post spectacular gains. Although it celebrated 20 years in the annual pole position last year, the Renault Clio had not ranked #1 in the monthly charts since last May. It is now done despite deliveries down 21% year-on-year in January, with the French subcompact followed by the VW Golf (+20%), Skoda Octavia (+32%) and Dacia Sandero (-21%). The VW Polo surges 82% to #5, the Ford Focus soars 46% to #6, while the Fiat Panda is up a gigantic 381% to #9. The Fiat 500 (+1750%!), Seat Alhambra (+200%), Kia Cee’d (+70%), Peugeot 208 (+61%) and Citroen C3 (+46%) also shine in the Top 20. The Opel Crossland X tops all recent launches (<12 months) at #32, ahead of the VW T-Roc landing directly at #38, the Hyundai Kona (#41) and Skoda Karoq (#44).
