The New Caledonian market – a small French Overseas Territory located north-east of Australia – is up 5.4% year-on-year in November to 782 registrations, meaning the year-to-date tally is now up 10.3% to 7.968 units. Note New Caledonian sales are counted separately from French metropolitan data so these figures aren’t already included in our France November update. This month Peugeot snaps the brands pole position for the second time in the past three months, up five spots on October and 73% year-on-year to a stunning 14.2% share vs. 9% so far in 2017. Dacia (-11%) is up one rank to #2, followed by Citroen (+32%) and Renault (+56%) with Ford in difficulty (-17%) rounding up the Top 5. Leader year-to-date, Toyota is down 4% to a paltry 6th place this month. Subaru shoots up 73% to #7, Volkswagen is up 62% to #11 and Mitsubishi up 220% to #14. Model-wise, the Peugeot 208 justifies the brand’s leadership by surging 75% to #1, ahead of the Dacia Duster (-22%) remaining on top YTD, the Ford Ranger (-15%) and Toyota Hilux (-8%). The Subaru XV is up 100% to #6, the Citroen C3 up 475% to #6, Renault Clio up 340% to #8 and the Peugeot Partner up 100% to #9.
