Ireland November 2017: Skoda Kodiaq, Mini Clubman shine
The Mini Clubman ranks 5th in a reduced Irish car market.

As usual, the Irish new car market switches off for the end of the year, awaiting 2018 license plates. Only 686 new cars found a buyer in November, that’s down 65% on October and down 8.2% year-on-year. The year-to-date volume for its part is down 10.2% to 131.187 units. Volkswagen remains the most popular carmaker, surging 78% to 19.2% share vs. 10.5% so far in 2017, and distancing Skoda up an even more impressive 156% to 12% share vs. 6.9% this year. Nissan (+17%) completes the podium ahead of Ford (+8%) whereas Toyota tumbles down 70% to #5. Both Kia and Mini shoot up 107%, Seat is up 171% and Land Rover up 67%. Over in the models ranking, the VW Golf (+310%) and Polo (+19%) dominate, followed by the Skoda Octavia (+94%) and Kodiaq. The Mini Clubman surges to #5 ahead of the Skoda Superb and Nissan Qashqai, with the VW Tiguan and Up also inside the Top 10.
