Serbia September 2017: Fiat 500L back to #1, Opel Corsa up to #2

According to data shared with us by our partner CE Auto, new car sales in Serbia are down 1.2% year-on-year in September to 1.921 registrations, leading to a year-to-date total up 13.7% to 22.821 units. Local publication Vrele Gume has these figures at 1.917 and 21.940 respectively. Fiat remains the most popular carmaker in the country but drops a harsh 27% year-on-year to 16.5% share, still way above the 13.6% it commands year-to-date. Skoda (-4%) and VW (-14%) round up the podium while Opel (+22%), Renault (+56%), Dacia (+27%), Mercedes (+74%) and Toyota (+19%) all post spectacular gains. Model-wise, after a month of August dominated by the Skoda Rapid and Rapid Spaceback due to a large police order, the Serbian ranking gets back to some kind of normalcy in September with the locally-produced Fiat 500L in the lead. The Opel Corsa is up four spots on last month to a brilliant 2nd place and the Skoda Superb is up 27% to #3. The Dacia Sandero is back inside the Top 10 at #6 while the Fiat Tipo makes its first appearance of 2017 at #7.
