Uruguay June 2017: Chevrolet up 3-fold to snap pole position
Chevrolet is the best-selling manufacturer in Uruguay both in June and year-to-date.

After a 46% jump in May, the Uruguayan new car market is up 38% in June to 4.967 registrations, leading to a year-to-date tally up 29% to 26.223 units. Chevrolet tops the brands ranking thanks to deliveries up 3-fold on June 2016 to 15.3% share and cements its year-to-date leadership (it ranked #5 over the Full Year 2016). The American brand distances Fiat at 12.5% (+6%) and Volkswagen at 12.4% (+221%). Suzuki (+146%), Peugeot (+146% also) and Citroen (+83%) all frankly beat the market inside the Top 10. Chinese manufacturers account for 10.3% of the market in June vs. 9.9% so far in 2017 and slow down their fall at -3% vs. -14% year-to-date. They are led by FAW (+144%), BYD (-41%), Great Wall (+22%), Geely (-18%), Dongfeng (+2%), Lifan (-52%) and Chery, all ranking inside the top 20.
