Israel June 2017: Kia Sportage leads, Hyundai Ioniq in the Top 10

The Israeli new car market is down 5% year-on-year in June to 25.137 registrations, yet the year-to-date tally remains in positive territory at 168.197 units, up 1.7% on the same period a year ago. For the third consecutive month, Kia is the most popular carmaker in Israel, and this despite a 5% year-on-year drop to 13.6% share. Toyota is up 21% to follow in 2nd place at 10.4% while the 2017 leader Hyundai crumbles down 32% to just 9.8% share. Skoda (+17%), Suzuki (+62%), Mazda (+12%), Renault (+108%) and Citroen (+31%) all post spectacular gains all within the Top 10. Further down, notice Dacia up 247%, Infiniti up 238% and Cadillac up 311%. Model-wise, the top three best-sellers over H1 2017 remain unchanged on the FY16 ranking despite all losing ground year-on-year: the Kia Sportage (-4%) remains in the lead ahead of the Kia Picanto (-10%) and Hyundai Tucson (-11%). The Toyota Corolla (+2%) and Skoda Octavia (+8%) round up the Top 5. The big news inside the Israeli Top 10 is the arrival of the Hyundai Ioniq at #8, its best ranking in the world so far. The Toyota C-HR lands at #17, the Suzuki Baleno is up to #20.
The Kia Sportage remains the best-selling vehicle in Israel in 2017.
