Finland April 2017: Volvo V90 on podium, Toyota C-HR in Top 10

The Finnish new car market is down a harsh 16% year-on-year in April to 9.252 registrations. meaning the year-to-date tally is now in negative as well at -3.9% to 42.093 units. Toyota continues to dominate the brands ranking, going completely against the grain with deliveries up a fantastic 19% to 1.204. Volkswagen (-9%) follows, losing less ground than the market, while Volvo shoots up 30% to third place overall, distancing Skoda (-32%), Ford (-24%) and Kia (-35%) all in freefall. Mercedes (+4%), Renault (+37%), Peugeot (+15%) and Dacia (+64%) are among the rare marques registering a year-on-year gain.

Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia reclaims the top spot off the Nissan Qashqai while the Volvo V90 gains four spots to land onto the Finnish podium for the first time. The VW Golf surges back up from #20 last month to #4 in April, distancing the Toyota Avensis, Opel Astra and Toyota Yaris just as the Toyota C-HR gains six ranks on March to break into the Finnish Top 10 for the first time at #8. Notice also the Volvo S90 up five to #20.
