Malaysia February 2017: Perodua up to 39.1% share in market up 12%
The Bezza pushes Perodua just under 40% market share at home.

After edging up just 0.1% in January, the Malaysian new vehicle market is definitely more colourful in February, posting a 12% gain to 42.455 and lifting the year-to-date tally up 5.6% to 87.122. Market leader Perodua reinforces its domination, outpacing the market at +18% to a stunning 39.1%, the brand’s second-ever highest market share below the 40.6% it hit last August. Like last month, Honda (+37%) thanks to the BR-V and HR-V and Toyota (+55%) potentially thanks to the new Sienta and new gen Vios are the biggest mass market gainers in the Malaysiam Top 10 this month. Premium brands Mercedes (+38%) and BMW (+16%) also shine inside the Top 10 whereas Nissan struggles at -35%. Below, notice Scania up 53%, Chery up 55%, Volvo also up 55% and Kia up 77%.
