Kazakhstan October 2016: Toyota now #1 YTD, UAZ Bukhanka up to #4

Thanks to our partnership with autoconsulting.kz, we can share with you today October data for Kazakhstan, down another steep 47% year-on-year to 3.996 registrations while September 2015 was already down 60% over 2014. The year-to-date tally now stands at 36.601, a 57% retraction on the same period in 2015 which was down 37% on 2014. Standing out from the crowd once again is Toyota with a stunning 138% increase – even more so in the currently depressed context – to an imposing 21% share, this score enabling the Japanese manufacturer to take the YTD brands lead at 18.4% share (+10%) vs. 18% (-71%) for perennial leader Lada. Among the rare carmakers in positive, Lexus is up 13-fold to #8 and newcomers Ravon (#12), Lifan (#16) and JAC (#17) climb up the charts. The Toyota Camry holds onto the top spot in the models ranking with 8.1% share ahead of the GAZ Gazelle (7.4%) and Lada Granta (5.8%) while the UAZ Bukhanka jumps 9 spots on September to #4 overall. Notice also the Toyota Land Cruiser 200 up to #7 vs. #12 YTD and #27 in 2015, the Lexus LX up to #14 and the Ravon Nexia R3 up 11 ranks on last month to #16.
