Greece October 2016: Toyota (+33%) and Volkswagen (+45%) soar
The Toyota Yaris holds 9.2% of the Greek market in October.

After losing ground both in August and September, the Greek new car market is back into positive territory in October, but just: at +1% to 4.995 registrations. This means the year-to-date tally is now up 8% to 68.211 units. Toyota strengthens its hold on the Greek market with sales up 33% to 707 and 14.2% share vs. 12.2% year-to-date, while in 2nd place Volkswagen jumps 45% to 9.4% share, knocking Opel (-3%) down to third place. BMW (+18%), Mini (+26%), Jeep (+76%), Dacia (+88%) and Renault (+131%) impress, but Nissan (-20%), Hyundai (-25%), Skoda (-27%), Volvo (-38%) and Mercedes (-44%) struggle. Model-wise, the Toyota Yaris powers through at +71% to a splendid 9.2% share, way above the Opel Corsa (-20%), Astra (+11%) and Ford Fiesta (+23%). The Renault Clio is up 297% to #9, the VW Tiguan up 24-fold to #11 thanks to the new generation and the Nissan Micra up 50% to #15. The best-selling recent launch (<12 months) is the Suzuki Baleno staying inside the Top 20 at #20 with 77 sales.
