Argentina October 2016: Renault #1 brand, Hilux leads models

The Argentinean new car market is up 7% year-on-year in October to 61.816 registrations, lifting the year-to-date tally up 8% to 595.800. Renault takes the reins of the brands ranking for the third time in the past five months after June and August thanks to sales shooting up 24% to 9.549 and 15.4% share just as YTD #1 Volkswagen drops 24% to 8.598 and 13.9%, ending the month just above Ford at -1% to 8.330. Chevrolet gains 13% to #4, Fiat is up 2% to #5, Peugeot up 25% to #7 and Honda up a stunning 157% to #10 thanks to the HR-V. Jeep is up boosted up almost 18-fold by the Renegade, BMW is up 660%, Hyundai up 161%, Ram up 119%, Volvo up 109% and Audi up 55%.
Model-wise, the Toyota Hilux remains sovereign despite sales down 1% year-on-year to 2.534, cementing its year-to-date lead at 27.504 (+19%). The VW Gol (-26%), Toyota Etios (+1%), Fiat Palio (-1%) and Renault Clio Mio (-8%) round up the Top 5. Below, notice the Renault Nuevo Sandero (+56%), Chevrolet Onix (+106%), Peugeot Partner (+94%) and Renault Duster (+97%) all posting spectacular improvements, while the Renault Duster Oroch hits an all-time high 17th spot.
