Netherlands September 2016: Opel up 41%, monopolises podium

The Dutch new car market remains in negative territory in September at -4% to 33.535 registrations, pulling the year-to-date tally down 5% to 285.355 units. Opel once again ignores the doom-and-gloom and surges up 41% to retain the brands lead by a large margin at 12% share, distancing Volkswagen at 8.9% (-17%). Opel even manages a historical podium in the models ranking with the Corsa in the lead (1.061 sales) followed by the Astra (1.051) and Karl (876). Renault gains even more ground with a 57% gain to third place overall above Peugeot (-32%), Ford (-26%), Kia (+11%) and BMW (+9%). Further down, notice Audi (+30%), Mini (+52%), Tesla (+163%), Dacia (+108%) and Infiniti (+280%) all posting spectacular gains. Model-wise, below the podium 100% Opel, the Renault Clio, VW Golf and Nissan Qashqai follow while the Renault Megane shoots up to #21, the Kia Niro to #39, the Audi Q7 to #50 and the Tesla Model X to #60 with 201 sales. We welcome the Seat Ateca at #74.
