Hungary September 2016: 3 Suzukis in Top 4 for the first time since 2009

The Hungarian new car market continues to gallop ahead with sales up 31% year-on-year in September to 8.229, lifting the year-to-date total up 26% to 69.444. Suzuki reclaims the helm of the brands ranking with a strong 12.1% share at 992 units, comfortably distancing Ford (9.7%), Opel (9.4%) and Skoda (9.4%) while Volkswagen (7.5%) reclaims the #5 spot it holds YTD off Toyota (6.3%). Nissan is back inside the Top 10 at #7, Hyundai remains strong at #8 but Dacia slips out. Model-wise, the Suzuki Vitara holds onto the top spot by the skin of its teeth at 417 sales and 5.1% share (-30%) vs. 414 and 5% for the Skoda Octavia (+10%). Boosted by its facelift, the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross leaps 113% year-on-year to third place with 2.9% share, and with the Swift at #4 Suzuki manages to place 3 nameplates inside the Top 4 for the first time since 2009. Other great performers this month include the Ford Tourneo Custom at #5 and the Opel Mokka at #7.
