Denmark September 2016: Volkswagen & Peugeot outpace market up 4%
The Touran – up 22-fold year-on-year – helps Volkswagen up 19% in Denmark.

The Danish new car market continues its record-setting pace in September at +4% year-on-year to a record 18.477 units, lifting the year-to-date tally up 8.5% to 168.470. Both market leaders Volkswagen (+19%) and Peugeot (+16%) both beat the market to reach 12.6% and 10.7% market share respectively. Skoda (-15%), Toyota (-6%) and Ford (-5%) on the other hand stumble. Other great performers include Hyundai (+22%), Seat (+34%), Mercedes (+41%), Suzuki (+42%), Dacia (+60%) and Audi (+69%). The Peugeot 208 cements its best-seller status with sales soaring 31% to 920 and 5% share, distancing the VW Up (4.1%), Polo (3.1%), Toyota Aygo (2.8%) and Peugeot 308 (2.6%). The Kia Rio is up 110% to #9, the Opel Astra up 795% to #12, the Peugeot 2008 up 150% to #25 and the VW Touran up 2138% to #35 thanks to the new generation. The Ford Ka+ makes its very first appearance in the Danish ranking at #75.
