Poland August 2016: Opel (+40%), Dacia (+46%) help market up 24%
The Opel Astra is only outsold by the Skoda Octavia this month in Poland.

Fantastic result for new light vehicle sales in Poland in August: up 24% year-on-year to 33.702 units including light commercials. The year-to-date tally is up by an equally satisfying 18% to 309.860. Skoda (+31%) reclaims the brands top spot it holds year-to-date off Volkswagen (+27%), leader in July. Opel shoots up 40% to 2.805 units and 8.3% share, overtaking Toyota for third position above Ford (+20%) and Renault (+5%). Dacia (+46%) continues to evolve at levels frankly above the same period in 2015 while luxury brands Mercedes (+62%) and BMW (+53%) are even more impressive.
The Iveco Daily shoots up to 4th place overall in August.
Model-wise, the Skoda Octavia (+19%) holds onto the pole position but is followed this month by the Opel Astra (+50%) outselling the Skoda Fabia (+20%) for second place overall. The Iveco Daily stuns with a 244% year-on-year gain propelling it to #4, the Renault Master is up 52% to #6, the Skoda Rapid up 77% to #8, the Dacia Duster up 64% to #11 and the Ford Mondeo up 36% to #14. The Nissan Qashqai (+44%), Seat Leon (+58%), Opel Corsa (+72%), Toyota Corolla (+79%), RAV4 (+92%) and VW Tiguan (+170%) also impress inside the Top 25.
