Taiwan July 2016: Toyota Corolla strong, Infiniti Q30 lands

The Infiniti Q30 has landed in Taiwan.

The Taiwanese new car market is down 4% year-on-year in July to 45.106 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 1.6% to 267.315 sales. Toyota posts a strong 31% share despite sales down 11% to 13.988, distancing Nissan at 11% (-7%) and Mitsubishi/CMC at 10.4% (+11%). Ford (+3%), Lexus (+8%), Mercedes (+9%) and local fare Luxgen (+24%) go agains the grain and display positive results. Model-wise, the Toyota Corolla impresses with a fantastic 11.7% share thanks to 5.280 sales, that’s almost 3 times the level of its nearest competitor the Toyota RAV4 (1.862) and the Corolla’s strongest share so far this year. In fact, Toyota monopolises the Top 4 with the Yaris at #3 and the Wish at #4. The CMC Veryca remains very solid in 5th place above the Nissan Tiida while the Nissan X-Trail gains 3 spots on June to #7. Notice also the Mazda CX-5 up 10 ranks to #13, the new Luxgen S3 stable at #21 and the Hyundai Tucson up a further 3 spots to #23. Finally, we welcome the Infiniti Q30 in the Taiwanese Top 60 this month at #56 with 171 sales.
