Austria June 2016: VW Tiguan and Hyundai Tucson impress
The VW Tiguan ranks #2 overall in Austria in June.

New car sales in Austria are up 11% year-on-year in June to 33.751 registrations, lifting the year-to-date total up 6% to 171.770 units halfway through 2016. Below Volkswagen up 12% to 17.1% share, Hyundai is up 6 spots on May to land in 2nd place overall with a splendid 6.6% share, two percentage points above its YTD level. Opel is down one rank to #3 but BMW is up 4 on last month and 44% year-on-year to #4. Notice also Seat (+48%), Dacia (+46%), Alfa Romeo (+58%), Honda (+46%) and Jaguar (+131%) all frankly improving.
Model-wise, the VW Golf remains the uncontested leader with 4.9% market share, with Volkswagen monopolising the podium and placing the Tiguan at #2 (up 7 on May) and the Polo at #3. The Skoda Octavia rounds a Top 4 100% Volkswagen Group, while the Hyundai Tucson is up 4 ranks on last month to a stunning 5th spot overall. Notice also the Ford Fiesta up 38 spots to #9 vs. #17 YTD, the Audi Q3 up 24 to #11 vs. #25, the Seat Alhambra up 15 to #15, the Renault Captur up 11 to #16 and the Fiat Tipo up 73 to #64. This month we welcome a wealth of new nameplates in the Austrian charts: the Alfa Romeo Giulia (#125), Ford Edge (#164), Seat Ateca (#183), Fiat Talento (#188) – a Renault Trafic / Opel Vivaro rebadge, Maserati Levante (#252) and Volvo S90 (#265)
