Slovakia April 2016: Skoda Superb up 7-fold in market up 10%

New car sales in Slovakia are up 10% year-on-year in April to 7.921 registrations, lifting the year-to-date total up 18% to 29.816 units. Skoda is master in command at 18.8% share and follows the market at +11%. It distances Volkswagen (-1%) with Peugeot (+16%) overtaking Hyundai (-18%) to snap up the third place. Renault (+45%), Suzuki (+68%), Mercedes (+40%), Toyota (+37%), Honda (+80%), Volvo (+41%) and Jeep (+50%) shine.
Model-wise, the Skoda Fabia consolidates further its leadership thanks to sales up 29% to 490, distancing the Skoda Octavia (-9%) and Rapid (+1%). The Suzuki Vitara is once again the best-selling non-Skoda in 4th place overall with 241 deliveries (+108%) but the most impressive progression in the Top 10 is delivered by the Skoda Superb, boosted up 7-fold on its April 2015 result by the new generation to rank 5th. Other great performers include the Renault Clio (+129%), Peugeot 208 (+94%), Seat Leon (+80%) and Honda CR-V (+112%) while among recent launches the Fiat Tipo (#44) and Honda HR-V (#49) both break into the Slovak Top 50 for the first time.
