Vietnam is back on BSCB with ever-impressive figures. After gaining 43% over the Full Year 2014 and 55% in FY2015 to reach all-time record levels, Vietnamese volumes are up a further 28% over the first four months of 2016 to 85.414 units, including a 42% increase in April at 25.725 deliveries. As it has been the case for the past few year, Thaco-Kia transforms a second place in the passenger cars ranking (2.539 sales) into an overall pole position (7.867) when medium and heavy commercials are included, distancing Toyota (4.537), Mazda (2.506) and Ford (2.430), the latter dropping outside of the podium due to a continuing outstanding run by Mazda.
In the models ranking, we witness a surprise in pole position: thanks to 1.204 sales, the Ford Ranger upsets perennial leader the Toyota Vios (1.195) and is getting closer year-to-date with deliveries up a whopping 124% to 4.365 vs. 4.623 for the Vios. The Toyota Innova rounds up the podium at 4.5% share YTD, followed by the Mazda3 (+90%) and Kia Morning (+88%). Further down, the Mazda CX-5 is up 73% to #8, the Toyota Camry up 116% to #10 and the Mazda2 is up 339% to #12.
