The Republic of Vanuatu is a South Pacific Y-shaped archipelago nation composed of 82 small islands stretching 1.300 km (810 mi) and located 1.750 km (1.090 mi) east of northern Australia – see exact location on map below. In 1980, Vanuatu became independent from a British-French Condominium dating back to 1906. It is home to 267.000 inhabitants.

The Ni-Vanuatu new car market is estimated at around 250 registrations in 2015 and continues to be obliterated by Toyota, holding almost 82% market share with 204 sales. The Toyota Hilux is once again the best-selling nameplate in the country with sales up 6%, followed by the Hiace and Land Cruiser 70.
