Slovakia March 2016: Suzuki Vitara up to #4, first non-Skoda

The Slovakian new car market is in great shape this year: up 17% year-on-year in March to 8.556 registrations and up 21% so far this year to 21.895 units. The Skoda Fabia retains the title it snapped off its larger stablemate the Octavia last year with a round 500 deliveries in March and 1.270 year-to-date vs. 391 and 1.187 for the Octavia while the Rapid is a fair distance away at 307 and 773. The performer of the year so far in Slovakia is the Suzuki Vitara, up to 4th place both in March and year-to-date, with other strong nameplates including the Hyundai Tucson (#7), Skoda Superb (#8) and Opel Astra (#9), overtaking its archenemy the VW Golf year-to-date (#5 vs. #9) thanks to the new model.
