Indonesian new car sales are down 5% year-on-year in March to 93.990 registrations, in line with a First Quarter drop of 6% to 267.228 units. Below the Toyota Avanza down 11% despite the arrival of a new generation last year, the Honda BR-V posts a stunning third consecutive month in 2nd place, back up to 6.5% market share thanks to 6.089 deliveries and adding up to 18.291 sales in just three months. But far from cannibalising the rest of the Honda range, the BR-V has sparked it out of lethargy: the HR-V is up 25% to #3 with 6.034 sales and 6.4%, all three figures being new Indonesian records for the nameplate. The Mobilio is also in great shape, up 133% to 5.088 sales and 5.4% share, its largest monthly volume in over a year (since January 2015). Finally, the Toyota Kijang Innova continues to be lifted by its new generation: up 50% to 4th place and 6.1% share and up 44% to #3 YTD while the all-new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport lodges another very solid month at #12 and 2.046 sales.
