Mauritius Full Year 2015: Toyota and Nissan strong, market down 9%

New car sales in Mauritius struggle in 2015 at -9% to 8.440 registrations. This year the market concentrates on two ‘tried-and-tested’ Japanese carmakers significantly increasing their market share: Toyota is stable at 1.605 sals, resulting in a 19% share vs. 17.3% in 2014 while Nissan is up 5% to 1.417 and 16.8% share vs. 14.6% last year. The two add up to a formidable 35.8% share of the Mauritius market in 2015. Hyundai gains one spot to #3 despite dropping 5% while Kia is down 27% to #4. Outstanding year for BMW (+24%) up to 5th place overall as well as Mazda (+61%), Audi (+47%), Isuzu (+39%) and Mini (+87%). On the other hand, Ford (-35%), Mitsubishi (-59%), Mercedes (-38%) and Peugeot (-40%) crumble down.
