Laos January 2016: Local Daehan trucks continue to grow
Local brand Daehan now holds 26% share in Laos.

2.811 new light vehicles found a buyer in Laos in January, with Toyota still holding the lion share of the market at 44% thanks to 1.236 deliveries. Local truck brand Daehan continues to progress, reaching a very impressive 26% share vs. 17.6% over the Full Year 2015. Dongfeng jumps to #3 with 6.9%, distancing Hyundai (2.9%), Chery (2.3%) and BYD (2.3%). Chinese carmaker hold 14.2% of the Lao market in January vs. 12.5% in 2015. Model-wise, one in every three vehicles sold in Laos in January is a Toyota Hilux, with the Daehan D-100 upgrading to #2 with 11.6% share, knocking the Toyota Hiace down to #3. The Chery QQ is up to #8.
