New Zealand November 2015: Ford Ranger #1, edges new Hilux out

Another all-time record month for the New Zealand market at 11.620 registrations in November, up 4% year-on-year and the highest November score in history. This means the year-to-date total is already the 2nd highest so far at 123.816 units (+5%), above the 123.247 registrations of 1984 and below just last year’s record 127.179. In the brands ranking, Toyota outpaces the market with sales up 7% to 22.5% share vs. 19.5% year-to-date, followed by Holden (-3%), Ford (-5%), Mazda (+21%) and Hyundai (-2%). Nissan impresses in 6th place and +44%, as do Kia (+121%), Ssangyong (+42%) and Fiat (+56%).
Model-wise, the Ford Ranger reclaims the top spot it holds year-to-date, edging out the all-new Toyota Hilux by just 7 sales at 690 vs. 683. Both utes are up 22% year-on-year. The Toyota Corolla (+8%) is kicked down to third place above the Toyota Highlander (+80%), Holden Captiva (+47%) and Colorado (-16%). The Mitsubishi Triton (+90%) and Mazda CX-5 (+46%) post strong gains as well.
