The new car market in New Caledonia, a French overseas territory located north-east of Australia, is once again up by a shy 3% year-on-year in November to 712 registrations, not enough to pull the year-to-date total out of its torpor at -7% and 8.362 units. The sales charts show a completely different picture than metropolitan France and are a mix of Pacific island and Australian influences. Toyota shoots up 6 spots on October and 27% year-on-year to brilliantly tale the lead of the brands ranking at 11.2% market share, blitzing past perennial leader Ford (-29%) while Dacia is up a spectacular 85% on November 2014 to land in third place. Citroen (+16%), Nissan (+79%), Hyundai (+46%) and Subaru (+60%) also lodge hefty gains in the Top 10. Model-wise, the Toyota Hilux is up 10 spots to pole position now that the new generation has reached the archipelago, distancing the Dacia Duster and Ford Ranger, with the Nissan Navara and Isuzu D-Max making it four pickups inside the November Top 5. Notice also the Subaru Forester up to #7, Toyota Land Cruiser up to #11 and the Great Wall Voleex C20R the only Chinese nameplate inside the Top 35.
