It’s a very dynamic month for Dutch new car sales, up 18% year-on-year in September to 35.277 units, lifting the year-to-date total up 6% to 301.338 deliveries. Peugeot (+12%) benefits from a weak month by Volkswagen (10.1% share vs. 12.3% year-to-date) to take the lead of the brands ranking, with Opel rounding up the podium at 8.1% share above Ford (+41%), Toyota (+14%), Renault (-13%) and Volvo (-18%). Notice also Mercedes (+27%), Nissan (+35%), BMW (+51%), Kia (+61%), Mazda (+101%), Hyundai (+109%), Jaguar (+200%) and Jeep (+381%) all in great shape. Model-wise, the Peugeot 308 reigns supreme this month with an outstanding 6.1% share, distancing the VW Golf at 4% and the Ford Fiesta at 3%, while the Renault Clio, down to a paltry #9, remains #1 year-to-date. Excellent performance of the Opel Karl up 15 ranks on August to a shiny 5th place with 895 sales and 2.5%, its highest ranking anywhere on the planet.
