Latvia August 2015: Nissan Qashqai in the lead

The Nissan Qashqai is the best-selling vehicle in Latvia in August.

Second consecutive month of year-on-year decline for Latvian new car sales at -2% in August to 1.173 registrations, however the year-to-date total is still frankly in positive territory at +7% and 10.641 units. Volkswagen keeps the brands pole position in spite of sales down a steep 34% to 14.9% share, distancing Toyota (+93%) and Nissan (+81%) both in outstanding shape. Peugeot (-4%) follows above Kia delivering the strongest year-on-year gains in the Top 20 at +144%. Notice also Opel (+41%), Fiat (+64%) and Hyundai (+95%). Model-wise, the Nissan Qashqai takes advantage of a particularly weak month by the market leader the Skoda Yeti (#39) to snap up the top spot at 5% share above the VW Passat (4%), Toyota Auris (3.7%) and Kia Sportage (3.2%). The Toyota Avensis (#7), VW Tiguan (#8), Hyundai i30 (#21) and Ford S-Max (#14) also lodge solid performances in August.
