Pakistan July 2015: Suzuki Mehran back to 2nd spot

Suzuki Mehran sales are up 77% year-on-year in Pakistan.

Courtesy of the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association, as is the tradition on BSCB we can share with you the best-selling locally produced models, a pretty accurate representation of the most popular new cars in the country as imports are still relatively limited. Sales of these vehicles in Pakistan more than double year-on-year on a particularly low July 2014 base at +128% to 15.909 registrations, lifting the year-to-date total to 128.436 units, up a very impressive 55.5% on 2014. The good health of the Pakistani new car market this year has a lot to do with the price of petrol taking a dive. Thanks to the new generation, the Toyota Corolla is up 6-fold year-on-year to 3.868 sales while the Suzuki Mehran – underperforming the market at +77% – regains the 2nd spot it holds year-to-date. Below, both the Suzuki Bolan (+212%) and Ravi (+326%) continue to deliver explosive year-on-year gains.
