The UK car market celebrates a record 40th consecutive month of year-on-year improvement in June at a splendid +13% to 257.817 registrations, shutting down worries that this incredible positive run is about to end. Total sales halfway through the year amount to an all-time high 1.376.889 units, up 7% on 2014. Below Ford (+13%), Vauxhall (+6%) and Volkswagen (+27%), in identical order as last month, year-to-date and 2014, BMW and Nissan overtake Audi to rank #4 and #5 respectively with 17.242 and 15.171 sales, Mercedes is up a robust 17% at #7, Skoda up 26% o #11, Mini up 31% to #14, Land Rover up 25%, Mazda up 29%, Dacia up 33%, Mitsubishi up 69% and Jeep up 161%.
Nine of the Top 10 best-selling models in the country gain ground year-on-year, 7 of them outpacing the market, signalling a clear consolidation of the market around trusted nameplates. The Ford Fiesta (+12%), Vauxhall Corsa (+20%), Ford Focus (+23%), VW Golf (+16%) and Nissan Qashqai (+33%) follow the same order as the year-to-date charts, while the Mini celebrates 3 consecutive months inside the Top 10 at #7 with 5.551 sales, earning it a spot in the 2015 Top 10, and the Vauxhall Mokka lodges its first Top 10 ranking of the year and third ever after May and December 2014 at #9 and 5.026 deliveries.
