Thanks to data reported by Central European market data specialists www.ceauto.co.hu, we know that the Serbian new car market is up 5% year-on-year in April to 2.202 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 6.698 units, down 5% on 2014. The Skoda Octavia takes the lead for the first time so far in 2015 thanks to 141 sales, followed closely by the locally-produced Fiat 500L at 138 deliveries but the surprise of the month is in third position: appearing inside the Serbian Top 10 for the first time since BSCB started following this country monthly two years ago, the Mazda3 sells an outstanding 130 units for a 5.9% market share, instantly earning an 8th spot in the 2015 year-to-date ranking. This looks like a bulk order from a rental car company building up to the summer touristic season. Two Skodas (Fabia and Superb) round up the Top 5 while the Kia Cee’d reappears at #8.
